There are many things to do and visit in the area.   A folder with suggestions is made available in each cottage.

Below are some suggestions to visit within easy reach:

Beautiful beaches to entice you into the water in summer or tempt you for long walks at any time.   To the north is the Bay of Mont St. Michel.   Cancale, heavenly for seafood, is the only south facing beach in Brittany.   Next door to it is Port Mer, a favourite with families.   St. Coloumb is a sloped sandy beach.   Dinard across the river Rance is also a firm favourite despite being a little further away.

The historic towns of Combourg and
Dol de Bretagne, pictures left and right, are closest to us.

Market days are worth a visit and the towns also have a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants for a treat from cooking at the cottages.

The village of
Bonnemain

Our village of Bonnemain is within walking distance (1.5km) or you may take one of our bikes to go there.

In Dinan you may wander around a bustling medieval town, or stroll along the quays and river.

Mont St. Michel
is worth a visit by day or to see the lights switched on at dusk.   The bay is a magical place listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a lot of effort is currently being undertaken to return the Mont to it's former Island state.

In St. Malo you may ramble around the ramparts, clamber over the cannons and enjoy wandering through the cobbled streets of the old town.   Tide in you can touch the sea, tide out, vast stretches of sand.

A further mention for . . .

Dinard ~ little Britain in Brittany with wonderful markets on Friday and Saturday in the summer as well as a glorious beach.   Walks along the coast from the town.

Cancale ~ has oyster and mussel beds galore.   You can shuck and devour oysters from the stalls that run alongside the harbour or spend the morning looking at the many menus, deciding where to lunch!   There is a market on Sunday mornings.

Rennes ~ the capital city of Brittany has medieval streets lined with houses with painted wooden walls, boutiques, paved squares as well as a food and flower market at the Places des Lices on Saturday morning.

For golfers ~ Domaine des Ormes and St. Malo golf clubs are minutes drive away.   There are another four courses within forty-five minutes drive.   We are very happy to arrange tee times if you wish.  We are able to obtain discounted greenfees at Des Ormes for guests staying with us, the full discount is passed onto our visitors.
